HVWC Poetry Reading: Pamela Hart, Sheila Maldonado, & Neil Shepard

Join us for the first Slapering Hol Press Reading of the year, where wonderful poets Pamela Hart, Sheila Maldonado, & Neil Shepard will share their work with the Writers' Center community.
 
PAMELA HART is a former journalist. Her work has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize and has been published in journals such as Rattapallax, Lumina and Kalliope. Among other occupations, she is the writer in residence at the Katonah Museum of Art. She was recently named a fellow at the Purchase College NY Writers Center.

SHEILA MALDONADO is the author of one-bedroom solo (Fly by Night Press, 2011), her debut poetry collection. She grew up in Coney Island, New York, across the street from the Atlantic Ocean. Her family hails from Honduras. Her poems have appeared in Rattapallax, Callaloo and Me No Habla with Acento: Contemporary Latino Poetry. She teaches creative writing for The City University of New York and Teachers & Writers Collaborative. She holds degrees in English from Brown University and poetry from The City College of New York.

NEIL SHEPARD is an American poet, essayist, professor of creative writing, and literary magazine editor.  He currently teaches in the low-residency MFA writing program at Wilkes University (PA) and at Poets House in New York City, and he is Senior Editor of the literary magazine Green Mountain Review. He has published four full collections of poetry -Scavenging the Country for a Heartbeat (First Book Award); I'm Here Because I Lost My Way; This Far from the Source; and (T)ravel/Un(t)ravel —as well as, most recently, a chapbook of poems, Vermont Exit Ramps.
