'Jaya He' Indian Classical Dance program

India Center of Westchester acts as the nerve center of Indian Americans in the tri-state areas of New York, Connecticut and Northern New Jersey and brings various cultural events to the community showcasing the rich and ancient heritage of India. The Center provides opportunities to learn various forms of music, dance, Indian Languages and other spiritual disciplines like yoga and Vedanta for children and adults alike.

Description of the event – ‘Jaya He’ is  a show presented by the students of Anindita Ganguly (Swapna Dance Academy) in association with India Center of Westchester. It will show case the various elements of Kathak including dances choreographed by Pandit Birju Maharaj followed by an expression of various emotions of life choreographed in creative and classical styles of dance.

This show is a culmination of the efforts of the students over the past couple of years. Their hard work and efforts to learn and strive to excel in Indian dance forms, classical and creative, is truly commendable.

This is a fundraiser for our students. We would like to provide them with opportunities to train and learn from legendary teachers. In order to continue to expose them to shows by the leading exponents in the field of dance and music and provide opportunities to train and learn from them, we need your support.
