Regional Beer Dinner at Valley at the Garrison

Pairing beer with fine foods is a popular trend in the
Hudson Valley and across New York State. Based on the strong response to its
first Regional Beer Dinner earlier this year, Valley at The Garrison will offer
a return event on April 3 at 7 p.m.

Valley’s Restaurants & Beverage Manager James Michael
Brown has selected four unique regionally-produced beers to enhance the incredible
combination of flavors Executive Chef Vincent Mocarski and the restaurant’s
culinary-trained chefs have put together for this special evening.

To start the three-course meal, seasonal hors d’ouevres with be served
with Plan Bee Farm Brewery Mattrazzo, a farm beer brewery in Fishkill produced
entirely with New York hops; and roasted cauliflower soup accompanied with Two
Roads NoLimit Hefeweizen, an artisan craft brewery featuring unique renditions
of classic beer styles.

For the entrée, Long Island fluke will be served with Shmaltz
Brewing Company’s Coney Island Mermaid Pilsner, a new and unique beer made in the
Capital District; and smoked suckling pig roast is paired with Sloop Brewing
Red C, a nanobrewery started in Poughkeepsie. Completing the meal
is house-made chocolate doughnuts with vanilla bean ice cream and a beer float
made from Sloop Brewing Black C.

“Since we opened in 2004, Valley has offered fine meals made
with locally-sourced fresh foods and farm products,” Brown said. “We are
continuing that tradition with our second regional Beer Dinner that will offer
diners an informal, high-quality dining experience and expose them to new beers
made in their own backyard paired with exceptional cuisine.”
