Violinist Paul Huang to Perform in Sleepy Hollow April 12

It has
been an exciting year for Friends of Music Concerts celebrating its 60th season
of presenting outstanding rosters of chamber groups and soloists to Westchester
audiences at the beautiful, acoustically-excellent Kusel Auditorium at Sleepy
Hollow High School.

On
Saturday, April 12, at 8:00 pm, Taiwanese-American violinist Paul Huang, who at
age 22 is already recognized for his eloquent music making, effortless virtuosity, and compelling stage presence, will bring those gifts to Friends of
Music Concerts' audience. Joined by piano collaborator Jessica Osborne, he will
play Vivaldi's Sonata in D Major, RV 10; Respighi's Sonata in B minor for
Violin and Piano, Stravinsky's Duo Concertante, Glazunov's Grand Adagio, and
Szymanowski's Nocturne and Tarantella.

Despite
his youth, Huang has already notched a number of awards, including first prize
of the 2011 Young Concert Artists International Auditions, for which he
received Friends of Music Concerts' sixth Performance Award. In 2009 he
received first prize at the International Violin Competition Sion-Valais in
Switzerland. His 2013-14 season also includes his Lincoln Center concerto debut
playing Barber's Violin Concerto with the Orchestra of St. Luke's, his Boston
recital debut at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, and an appearance with
the Bilbao Symphony performing Mozart's Violin Concerto No. 3 and Walton's
Violin Concerto. He has performed in recital or as soloist in the U. S.,
Mexico, Finland, Hungary, Italy, France, and Taiwan.
