Two Big Openings: New Castle Spa Now, Mrs. Greens Next Week

The THANN Sanctuary Spa celebrated its grand opening at the now-named Castle Hotel and Spa in early December.

On hand for the ribbon-cutting were: Gilbert Baeriswil, General Manager; long-time Tarrytown resident Kevin Plunkett, Westchester’s Deputy County Executive; Drew Fixell, Mayor of Tarrytown, Jiro Sato, President of Sankara Hotels & Resorts, the owners behind this operation; along with other neighbors and leaders with guests from as far as Japan and Thailand.

The crowd in the handsome yet simple stone and glass space enjoyed Asian-themed hors d’oeuvres and demos of the offerings in the seven new treatment rooms, including yoga from Tarrytown’s Riverstone Yoga.

And big news for Broadway: the former Tarrytown Gourmet is about to take off its wooden construction coverings and reveal its full transformation into a new Mrs. Greens.

They've been working around the clock to get to their grand opening on time and it seems they'll actually make it.

There’s a party on Thursday, Dec. 19 that the community’s invited to from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. with festivities and tastings to follow all weekend. Shoppers can have it at as of the official grand opening Friday, Dec. 20. Use this great coupon to get five freebies.

Writes W@tercooler's Jenifer Ross, who is helping plan and promote the event:

They will also be doing a silent auction that day if you would like to contribute an item. All of the proceeds from the auction will be going to Riverkeeper.

If you can't make it on Thursday, be sure to stop by on Friday for the opening of the store where there will be tastings all day, live music in the evening as part of Tarrytown Third Friday, and other activities Saturday and Sunday, including storytelling for the little ones.
