Today is the Big Day!! 2nd Annual Photo Shoot with Ricky Restiano...

Today is the 2nd Annual “Making Brides Beautiful” Photo Shoot & Extravaganza. It has been described as Westchester’s Finest Wedding Professionals Showcase.

Today is the 2nd Annual “Making Brides Beautiful” Photo Shoot & Extravaganza.  It has been described as Westchester’s Finest Wedding Professionals Showcase.  It started last year with a simple idea to update the JKFlashy website with Westchester’s well known Wedding photographer Ricky Restiano.  Fast forward to this year’s line up of the amazing and fabulous vendors, the majority proudly hold the “Best of Westchester” title; vendors include:

JKFlashy Makeup Service Inc., Ricky Restiano Photography, Salon Posh, Silver Star Limousine, Fontana Bridal Salon, La Renaissance, Westchester Burger & Graziella’s, Jimmy Dee Music Productions, Jerry Iodice providing Show Horses, Luxe Events, Strictly Video, Creative, Concepts & Connections, LLC & Monica Chimes Floral, Inc.  It was also great to work with Paul Janos, property manager of our event location, Hudson Harbour in Tarrytown, which is home to Westchester Magazines Dream Home.

The time and effort that has been invested into the design, production and execution of this Photo Shoot has been immeasurable and is a true testament of working respectfully together to better each other’s businesses.
Photos will NOT be released until February 7th at Westchester Magazine’s Unveiled Bridal Show at the VIP Country Club.  We feel privileged and honored that Westchester Magazine has invited us to show case the exclusive photos taken by Ricky Restiano at their Event.

Today begins at 2:45am when JKFlashy & Salon Posh provide hair and makeup services for each other.  Models are due to arrive at 7:15am.  MC Alex from Jimmy Dee Music Productions creates the ambiance at 6:00am.  While Luxe Events begins the check in process.  An important detail to this Photo Shoot is that there is absolutely NO cell phones or any electronic devices  allowed on the property.  In addition, all media and press and any attendee must be INVITED!  We enforce both policy’s to maintain and preserve the exclusivity and integrity of this Photo Shoot.

At the end of the day...this is an incredible, amazing and very rewarding project that I have been privileged to be apart of with incredible vendors.  Typically we are all obeying time constraints, client expectations and other event centered objectives, it is amazing to have a day that is an overall, “envelope pushing,” “out of the box,” and fun.  Today will be a memory that reminds each of us why we do what we do...its a day we rediscover and renew our love, passion, drive and energy for our chosen paths or Careers.

A big part of the problem is that the teachers' expectations about what supplies are necessary haveRead More become so extreme. When my kids were in school in Tarrytown, we would get a list at the beginning of every school year of the supplies we needed to buy. The parents were asked to buy a separate looseleaf binder for every single class our kids were taking and, for some classes, they asked for a looseleaf AND a spiral notebook. When I was in school, each kid had ONE looseleaf and we separated classes with dividers. Having SIX or seven loose leafs adds to backpack weight and costs a lot of money. My kids supply bills were often close to $100 apiece. The teachers have bought into this idea that all of these supplies are necessary and they are not. I'm not surprised that Staples is offering "rewards programs." Their advertising and marketing efforts have convinced the teachers that you must have a package of 12 red correcting pens, per child.
