First comes the inauguration of Spring and the reawakening of Philipsburg Manor with the sheering of sheep, spinning of wool, walking on stilts, and all manner of old-timey fun at the Sheep-to-Shawl festival in April.
Next up: comes the Pinkster celebration on Sunday, May 13, when our old working farm becomes the grounds for lively song and dance, African-American-style. Take your mother to this unique event!
In the mid-summer, we can look forward to the second annual Pirates of the Hudson, a huge hit in its first siege last year.
Then it's harvest time, and the Native American fun/education of song, stories, dance and crafts of the Green Corn.
Finally, the event that is bound to get scarier and scarier (better and better) as it grows each year: Horseman's Hollow, when the usually sweet farm is transformed into a dark world of screams and gore. (A chance to keep the young ones at home for once).
It's hard to choose, but we thought we'd ask what is your favorite event at ? Weigh in in our poll and stay tuned for the edition next time.
