W@tercooler Turns Three and Supports Another Local Merchant through BrArt!

100 Art Bras (or BrArts) will be auctioned off at W@tercooler’s 3-Year Anniversary Party/Fundraiser in Tarrytown on June 7th – Preceded by a “BrArt Walk” on Saturday, May 24th from 12-5 featuring over 50 of the Art Bras to be hung in downtown Tarrytown retail establishments.

When W@tercooler founder and co-owner Jenifer Ross learned that fellow Tarrytown merchant Jill Rose of Chiboust was trying to raise funds to support the uncovered medical treatments she needed for her Stage 4 cancer, the wheels started turning. The decision to turn their upcoming 3-year anniversary into a fundraiser was the easy part… finding 100 people to turn bras into art, was going to take some time. So far, approximately 50 BrArts have been made by friends and strangers during two evening’s of amazing creative generosity. Each night saw 15-20 women arriving at W@tercooler and getting to work laying out ideas, sewing, hot glue gunning, chatting, and making change in the most “supportive” of ways.

One more BrArt-Making evening is planned for Tuesday, May 20th from 6-10pm at W@tercooler. Please call 914-332-1400 if you would like to participate. You can also drop off a completed BrArt at 21 North Broadway, 2nd floor, Monday through Friday between the hours of 9:00am and 5:30pm.

To promote the party/fundraiser, a BrArt Walk is planned for Saturday, May 24th from 12-5 in which people can grab a BrArt Map and visit over 20 of the downtown shops that are displaying a portion of the Art Bras available for sale the evening of the party on June 7th from 8pm-11:30 pm at W@tercooler. The BrArts will be on display in the stores from May 24th through June 4th.

All of the BrArts will be on auction during the party for $100 and up. All proceeds from the sale of the BrArts will be donated to Jill Rose for her cancer treatments.
