MHA WESTCHESTER ANNOUNCES FALL BENEFIT AND HONOREES

The Mental Health Association of Westchester (MHA) is pleased to announce the four remarkable individuals who will be honored at the annual benefit on Thursday, October 17 at the Metropolis Country Club in White Plains.  The  event benefits and builds mental health services in Westchester. 

 

The evening begins at 6:30 pm and includes cocktails, dinner, a silent auction, and award presentations to these outstanding individuals who have made a difference to the field of mental health and MHA:

·         Andrew Solomon, Award-winning writer and lecturer and author of the new book, Far From the Tree: Parents, Children, and the Search for Identity, which tells the stories of parents who not only learn to deal with their exceptional children, but also find profound meaning in doing so.  

·         Dr. Lisa Dixon, M.D., M.P.H., Director, Center for Practice Innovations, NYSPI, Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons; who is leading the statewide initiative, OnTrackNY, a program shows unprecedented promise for people at risk for early psychosis.

·         Willa Brody, Director of Government and Community Relations, New York Presbyterian Hospital, a tireless advocate for individuals seeking support for mental health issues and a strong community activist throughout her professional and volunteer life.  

·         Ralph Lieblich, a retired attorney who has volunteered for MHA’s Long-Term Care Ombudsmen Program for more than a decade.

 

MHA is a community-based mental health agency that has been helping Westchester County residents for 67 years through direct services, professional and community education and advocacy.  MHA supports 18,000 individuals annually through a comprehensive array of mental health services for all ages at licensed mental health clinics, and to best meet each individual’s need, at home or at a community location.  MHA’s belief that every individual can and will recover is at the core of its mission.
