Barbara L. Stofko of Yorktown Heights passed away on July 12. She was 76.
Stofko was born on April 25, 1936 in Yonkers to Edmund and Helen Lewis. She graduated from the College of Mount Saint Vincent in Riverdale in 1958. She then married husband Robert C. Stofko on July 4, 1959. Stofko was the principal for in North Tarrytown and at Our Lady of Fatima in Scarsdale and retired in 2001.
Stofko is survived by her devoted husband Robert, four loving children; Charles Stofko, Ellen Stofko, Mary Kim Johnson, and Jane Imbro (Scott). She is also survived by her sister Mary Lewis, eight grandchildren, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and nephews, and many friends. Stofko was an Eucharistic minster and lector for , a volunteer for the Discovery Shop, and a member of the Cortlandt Yacht Club.
Family will receive friends at the Yorktown funeral home on Sunday, July 15 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 pm. Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Patrick’s Church (main) in Yorktown Heights, on Monday, July 16 at 10 a.m.
Interment to follow at Rosehill Memorial Park in Putnam Valley. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Dominican Sister Family Health Services, INC 299 N. Highland Ave. Ossining, NY 10562.
