In Memoriam: Victoria DiVico, 97

Visitation will be at Coffey Funeral Home on Thursday. Her funeral mass will be Friday morning at St. Teresa of Avila Church with interment to follow in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.

Victoria K. DiVico, a longtime Sleepy Hollow resident, died March 28, 2013 at the age of 97.

Born in North Tarrytown on December 20, 1915, she was the daughter of Frank and Anna Chira Leslie. She was raised in Silver Lake and graduated from White Plains High School. On September 19, 1939, she married Massie DiVico in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in White Plains.

Victoria retired from General Motors in 1985, where she earned the distinction of being the first woman inspector on the line.

She was a parishioner of St. Teresa of Avila Church and a member of the Sleepy Hollow Seniors and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aries 1042 Ladies Auxiliary.

Victoria is survived by her daughter Linda (William) Petrovich of Sleepy Hollow and her son Massie (Anne) DiVico of Mamaroneck as well as her grandchildren Joseph (Melissa) DiVico and Melissa (Martin) LaDue as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded by her husband Massie, her granddaughter Debra Scott, her brother Joseph Leslie and her sister Helen Papalio.

Visitation will be at Coffey Funeral Home on Thursday from 4-8 PM. Her Funeral Mass will be Friday at St. Teresa of Avila Church at 10:00 with interment to follow in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
