John Vydareny, Lifelong Resident, Dies at 63

John Vydareny lived in Sleepy Hollow all his life. He was a member of Rescue Hose and worked for the water department.

John D. Vydareny, a lifelong resident of Sleepy Hollow died May 1, 2013 at the age of 63. John was born in North Tarrytown on April 1, 1950 to Paul and Julia E. Varva Vydareny. He was a graduate of Sleepy Hollow High School. He worked for the Village of Sleepy Hollow Water Department for many years having retired in 2005. He was a member of the Reformed Church and the Old Dutch Church. He was also a member of Rescue Hose Company of the Sleepy Hollow Fire Department where he served as Treasurer and Recoding Secretary.

John is survived by his cousins James S. Wydareny of NJ and Jane Jolly of CA. He is also survived by his dear friends Bernadette and Richard Schafranski and family. He was predeceased by his parents as well as his brother Paul. He will be missed by his beloved cat Suzy

Visitation will be at Coffey Funeral Home on Friday (today) from 6PM to 9 PM. Funeral Services will be at the Old Dutch Church on Saturday at 12:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations to Parkinson’s Disease Foundation 1359 Broadway, Suite 1509 New York, NY 10018 would be appreciated.
