Mary Lombardi, Lifelong Tarrytowner, 84

Visitation will be at Coffey Funeral Home on Thursday. Her Funeral Mass will be at St. Teresa of Avila Church on Friday with interment to follow in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.

Mary Lombardi passed peacefully from this life into Heaven on March 19, 2013 at the age of 84. She was born in Tarrytown on June 29, 1928, the daughter of Angelo and Marietta Ferrara Vaccaro. She resided in the Tarrytowns her entire life. On April 19, 1953, she married Thomas Lombardi in Immaculate Conception Church.

She worked at Woolworth’s and Goldberg Hardware and as a cafeteria worker at Sleepy Hollow High School. During her retirement she enjoyed spending time with her family and many friends as a member of the Tarrytown Seniors.

She is survived by her loving husband Thomas and her loving daughters, Kathleen of Tarrytown, Patricia (Thomas) Abt of Hopewell Junction and Joanne of West Park. She is also survived by her grandchildren Danielle (Christopher) Moreno and Christopher (Ashley) Abt and her great-grandson Ayden Abt. Also surviving is her sister Lena (John) Donzella of Johnson City, TN as well as many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Antonette Lupi and Susan Timm and brothers Frank, Patsy and Tony.

Visitation will be at Coffey Funeral Home on Thursday (today) from 3 to 8 PM Her Funeral Mass will be at St. Teresa of Avila Church on Friday at 10:00 with interment to follow in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
