Former Tarrytown resident Virginia D. (DeGrasso) Baker passed away on July 25 at age 91.
Born on October 18 to Charles and Pearl (Madison) DeGrasso, Baker grew up in Hillsdale and later moved to Tarrytown. She worked at Hackley School in Tarrytown as a bookkeeper.
In 1996, she moved to Maine to be closer to her family and became an avid South Portland member of the First Congregational Church.
Baker's husband, Theodore “Teddy” Baker and a daughter, Betty Ann Liston pre-decease her. Her daughter Susan P. Lang, granddaughter Dr. Elizabeth Lang and her husband Fabeon Lebrun survive her.
Her family members are thankful for the nurses and staff at Seaside Nursing Home for their loving care of Baker.
