Regina (Jean) Joyce, formerly of Elmsford died November 15, 2012 at the age of 94. Born in N. Tarrytown on July 8, 1918, she was the daughter of Leon and Loretta Chappelle Quinn. Jean was a teacher who taught in the Croton Public Schools as well as other schools in the area. She was a member of the NEA and the NYS Retired Teachers.
She had lived in Boynton Beach, FL for many years before coming back to New York. She was the wife of Donald Joyce who predeceased her in 1977.
Jean is survived by her daughters-in-law JoAnn Joyce of Ossining and Prudence Joyce of Newport, NH as well as her grandchildren Christine Joyce, Erin Leser, Carrie Young, Lindsay Wilkens and Donald Joyce, III. She is also survived by 7 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her sons Donald and Eugene and her brother Emmett Quinn and her sister Lavina Quinn.
Visitation will be at Coffey Funeral Home on Monday from 4-8 PM. Her Funeral Mass will be on Tuesday at St. Ann’s Church, Ossining at 10:00 with interment to follow in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
