Russell Ippolito, Lifelong Tarrytowner, Dies at 53

Russell J. Ippolito, a lifelong resident of the Tarrytowns, died May 15, 2013. He was 53.

Mr. Ippolito was born on July 4, 1959 to Thomas and Lucy Ippolito in North Tarrytown.  He was a graduate of Westchester Community College, Columbia University, and Pace Law School.  He was a practicing attorney and a Professor/Chair of Paralegal Studies for Westchester Community College. He was an avid runner, environmentalist, and lifelong learner.

He is survived by his wife Karen Suhr Ippolito and his two children Kristen and Aaron.  He is also survived by his siblings Barbara (Larry) White, Thomas (Carole) Ippolito and Helena Ippolito. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and his lifelong friend Keith Hamilton Cobb. He was predeceased by his dog Soprano.

Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at COFFEY FUNERAL HOME INC. in Tarrytown. His Funeral Service will be held at 10 AM on Monday at the First Baptist Church in Tarrytown. Interment follows at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that memorial gifts be directed to the Westchester Community College Foundation in support of student scholarships. Checks should be made out to WCC Foundation, and mailed to same at 75 Grasslands Road, Hartford Hall, Valhalla, NY 10595.
