Samuel A. Long, a longtime resident of Sleepy Hollow, died on August 29, 2011. He was 71.
Mr. Long was born on August 21, 1940 to Gordon and Rose Annicchiarico Long in Brooklyn. He served in the United States Army. He was employed as a foreman for General Motors Corp. for 30 years and also worked at Green Rock for 15 years. He was a past member of the North Tarrytown Auxiliary Police. He married Claudette Bellefleur on August 15, 1964 at St. Teresa of Avila Church in North Tarrytown.
He is survived by his son Richard (Marisa) Long of Orangeburg and his 2 grandsons Steven and Dakota. He was predeceased by his wife Claudette in 2009 and his son David in 2003.

Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at Coffey Funeral Home in Tarrytown. His Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday at St. Teresa of Avila Church in Sleepy Hollow. Interment to follow at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
