Con Ed completes work on Taxter Road, E Irvington

Con Ed  gas guys finished their work on Taxter Road on Thursday night, according to a Con Ed official who responded to complaints from the town.  As a result metal plates and orange cones should be removed soon. Some of the plates have been on Taxter Road since the summer of this year.

Taxter Road is a dark, winding road and the plates are not well positioned.  Vehicles proceeding on Taxter Road from Shaw to Rt. 119 often cross the double yellow line to avoid the plates.  Sometimes the vehicles are required to cross the yellow line as there are orange cones on top of the plates even though there is no work going on.

Because of the limited sight distance, this is a very dangerous situation. I have received some complaints from residents and am pleased that the Con Ed work is finally ending!
