Jonathan Perry-town greeter

Jonathan Perry town greeter: our unsung town hero

The next time you stop by at Town Hall one thing is likely: You'll be greeted by the official Town Greeter, Jonathan Perry. Another near certainty: Jonathan will make you smile. He's probably the most popular person at Town Hall - everyone likes him. He is even able to make people happy when they stop by at Town Hall to pay their taxes!  Even magicians can't accomplish that!

As a young boy, Jonathan was involved in a serious accident, just escaping death. He has had to overcome special challenges as a result of the accident. What impresses many people is that Jonathan is ALWAYS happy, always excited, always nice to everyone.  Since September 2010 Jonathan Perry has been the front desk receptionist at Town Hall. He's the first person you meet when you enter Town Hall and the last person you speak with as you are leaving. He informs residents where departments and employees are. He helps people get the attention they need with problems. During Halloween and other events he dresses up in different costumes. During our 225th anniversary celebration he dressed up in a colonial costume and challenged me to a duel (he won!)  He helps organize birthday parties for employees.  He is a very caring person, always looking out for the needs of others. Jonathan is an asset to Greenburgh Town Hall.  His enthusiasm, optimism and warmth lend a ray of sunshine to even the gloomiest of days.

At a young age, many years were spent at Camp Discovery.  His counselor described him as “a fabulous young man, whose good nature, enthusiasm and easy smile are contagious” and “as having a sunny disposition and a real pleasure to be around.”

Jon attended Quaker Ridge School and then Harrison High School, where he was involved in football, baseball, basketball and theatre.  He is a big WWE fanatic and wishes to become part of the WWE one day.

Jonathan lives in Greenburgh. His grandmother (among the best grandma's anyone could have)  visits him every day and spends some time at Town Hall with him. She says this about her grandson:

“Jon is a blessing to each and every one that he encounters.  The Lord has sent us Jon to teach us the meaning of true love.”
