new Greenburgh police chief being sworn into office Wed

Captain Chris McNerney, Commanding Officer of the Detective Division of the Greenburgh Police Department will be sworn into office as the next Greenburgh Police Chief tomorrow evening, November 13, 2013 at 7:30 PM at Town Hall. Judge Les Adler, a former Town Councilman, will officiate at the swearing in ceremonies. The public is invited to attend the swearing in ceremony - which will be followed by the Town Board meeting.
Chief Joseph DeCarlo will be retiring as Police Chief at the end of the month. We thank the Chief for his dedication, hard work and professionalism.  Crime, under his watch, has been at historic low levels. Chief-designee McNerney, who also has a law degree has extensive experience working in different divisions of the Police Department. He is well qualified to continue the Police Departments tradition of excellent leadership. He is also involved in local community activities.
