Patch Comments: 'This Is Not the Love Canal, Sweetheart'

The Indian Point shut-down, electric car charging stations, and the key to a good and long marriage are just some of the topics that got Hudson Valley Patch users talking on our comments board last week.

Editor's Note: Following are comments from some of the stories that got Patch users talking last week:

"Spokesman Jerry Nappi said no radioactivity was released and there was no threat to the public or the workers. Always the same story and I still don't believe it!" -- Wendy Kelly

... and ...

"You know I'm kinda tired of people making comments on things that they really do not know anything about. My husband works at Indian Point and he tells me pretty much everything that is going on. There is not need to be concerned. They shut down the Unit's when there is a maintenance issue. This is not the Love Canal sweetheart. In a year you get more radiation from the sun than you would ever receive from Indian Point in your entire lifetime." -- MH

Bedford Pursues Electric Car Charging Stations for Public Use

"On one hand, I welcome the use of renewable energy, on the other hand I hope this wont increase local taxes which are already very high..." -- F.

NY Rangers to Help Repair Ice Casino

"This is great news. I am glad the Ice Casino is getting the necessary attention and some of it is through donations to people that care." -- ArTDecoPlayLand

Legislators Rethink Community College Chargebacks

"I am happy that our legislators are starting to think rather than just react." -- Mike Hirsch

... and ...

"i am still trying to come to grips with paying for someone to go to FIT" -- stephany

Wow, Aidan, you're mature. You're using a photo of a movie character with a sword as your profile photo. I'll accept your feedback once I'm convinced I'm not arguing with a ten-year-old.

Stop criticizing others who want their thoughts heard. It's not an English class. Be less of a snob.

Charles, where's your profile photo? How do we know who or what you are? Maybe you're a dog. On the Internet, no one knows you're a dog (Google it if you've never seen the cartoon). And I like the photo, It's from The Princess Bride! "Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You kill my father. Prepare to die!" I'm guessing you won't like my profile photo, either.
