Question of the Day: How Do You Cope with Heat?

We want to hear from you. Tell us in the comments section below.

Today’s Question of the Day is: What do you do and where do
you go to beat the summer heat?

Hot and humid weather isn’t so bad when you are in an air-conditioned room, but it could be downright dangerous if you aren’t. With temperatures expected to reach the high 80s today
and Wednesday and the 90s later in the week, the Westchester County Health Department warns residents to avoid strenuous activity; drink lots of fluids (non-alcoholic and non-caffeinated); stay indoors, preferably in an air-conditioned setting, to avoid heat stroke and dehydration. Bring your pets inside too. If you don’t have access to air conditioning at home, consider visiting a shopping mall, a library or a supermarket. Wear lightweight, light-colored,
loose clothing along with sunscreen and a hat. Never leave anyone or an animal in a closed, parked car. Check on an elderly or sick neighbor.

Hooray for the town pool! It turns out to be the best way for my kids and I to cool down during these hot days. The lawn sprinkler works well too!

That is the number one thing I want in my town -- a municipal pool!
