Sleepy Hollow's Georgia Efthalitsides Named AD3I Women's Volleyball Coach of the Year

The Association of Division III Independents (AD3I) released its Women’s Volleyball post-season honors recently, and The College of New Rochelle’s head coach Georgia Efthalitsides was named Coach of the Year.

Coach Efthalitsides, in her fifth season at the helm for the Blue Angels, brought together a team that started four freshmen and transformed them into the winningest team in program history, becoming the first volleyball team in school history, and just the third in any sport, to reach the 20-win plateau.  The HVIAC Tournament Championship was her third in her five years as the College’s head coach.  Coach Efthalitsides has led her team to the HVIAC Tournament Semifinals in each of her five seasons.

This season five Blue Angels received All-Independent status, including two First Team selections, one Second Team selection, and two Honorable Mention selections.  A CNR player also received AD3I Rookie of the Year honors.  Included in the highlights of a memorable season were 30 new program individual and team records.
