Thursday: Phelps Hospital Farmers Market at the Park

Have you discovered the great little Thursday farmers market behind Phelps hospital at the base of Rockwood Hall? Each week from 11am to 3pm local vendors offer a wide array of seasonal vegetables and fruits, meat, eggs, yogurt, baked goods and other prepared foods. Stop by for lunch, either at one of the tables provided or spread your blanket further up the hill with Rockwood Hall's beautiful Hudson River view. You can then take home all you need for a fresh market dinner and wonderful accents to your following days' meals. This week R&G's produce tables spill over with greens, carrots, squash, radishes, eggplant, potatoes, corn and whatever else their fields yield, at very affordable prices. Wright's Farm has peaches, plums, apricots and berries along with their famous apple cider doughnuts, other baked goods and refreshing hand-squeezed lemonade. Rich Brownies has quickly cultivated an addiction among their followers; which flavor is your favorite? And all that delicious artistry from Red Barn Bakery is organic! If you're a yogurt lover, (or even if you aren't) you must try the rich creation of Sohha from Brooklyn. Raghoo Farms offerings include eggs, chicken, duck, rabbit, goat and elk and Linzi of Spice Revolution is always happy to help you season up your preparations. True Foods of Nyack brings an assortment of salads, wraps & chilled soups perfect for lunch or take home. This week the Black Forest Flammkuchen truck returns cooking to order wood-fired Alpine flatbreads featuring market ingredients. You can even call or text (845-505-9005, please include your name & pick-up time) them your order ahead of time; check out the menu here: http://blackforestflammkuchen.com/menu/ SPREAD THE WORD!!! Let's all make it profitable for these vendors to keep coming each week and stop by the Phelps tent for a free market tote.
