Thursday 10/10: Phelps Hospital Farmers Market at the Park

Pumpkins and Pretzels

Maybe even pumpkin shaped pretzels; she had some spider shaped ones on Saturday!  Yes, Bronx Baking Company will be back this week.
Rich Brownies has their seasonal pumpkin cheesecake brownies and pumpkin blondies again, and there'll be plenty of pumpkin peeking out from among the market tents in the weeks to come. Word has it, Rose may even be sampling a pumpkin hummus this week.
The temps are dropping and the psychic shift from salads to soup has begun.  There might be a few sprinkles at the market tomorrow but that shouldn't stop you from coming to get some piping hot Indian food from Chutney Masala Bistro for lunch. The servings are quite generous...eat some for lunch and take the rest home for dinner. You can stretch it out by sauteeing some braising greens from DoReMe and serving soup...carrot, squash or pumpkin, with seasoning from Spice Revolution, finished with a dollop of Sohha yogurt and a chunk of bread from Red Barn Bakery. Fall in a bowl!
Here are the vendors we are expecting tomorrow, followed by last week's sampling recipe for Not-So-Sloppy Joes:
