Thursday 10/17: Phelps Hospital Farmers Market at the Park

'Tired of Apples?  Try Pears!

Anjou. Bosc. Seckel. It's pear season and Wright's Orchard will have bushels of pears at market tomorrow. If you're tired of making apple crisps, why not switch to pear? Few things taste better than a warm pear crisp laced with fresh ginger (which you can pick up at DoReMe Farms). Except maybe a slice of pear crisp topped with a dollop of Sohha yogurt. And yes, they are slated to come tomorrow.
Red Barn Bakery is now making soups to take home. But if you'd like to make your own, DoReMe has lots of butternut squash and potatoes to get you started. Spice Revolution has all the spices you need to give your soup some extra autumnal flair.  The entire county is buzzing about Raghoo Farms' amazingly tender and flavorful fresh chicken. And Clean Ridge Soap Co. will be at the market tomorrow.  You might even get a leg up on your holiday shopping at their tent  It should be a sunny fall day at the market tomorrow. Why not grab some Indian food and stay for lunch?
Here are the vendors we are expecting tomorrow, followed by last week's sampling recipe for Pumpkin Hummus:
