On Dec. 3 at 6:04 a.m., a caller reported to Sleepy Hollow Police that a pick-up truck had been left on the side of Bedford Road with no hazard lights on.
Chief Gregory Camp said the car was in a shoulder not meant for parking.
“Due the good vigilance of people calling us and telling us when they see something, we can take care of things," Camp said.
Camp said the truck had appeared to be a single-vehicle accident with signs of it having hit the guardrail. But the chief said one could “only make assumptions” about why someone would leave the scene and not report it.
The driver was issued a universal traffic ticket for leaving the scene of an accident; the fine, said Camp, would be “up to the Judge."
