Police: Multiple DWI Arrests on Same Day

Sleepy Hollow Police report a car on North Broadway struck an oncoming car, careened into a telephone pole and struck a fence; this lead to the first of three DWI arrests made that day.

On Nov. 18 at 6:24 a.m. numerous 911 calls came into Sleepy Hollow police headquarters for a car accident at Route 9 and Highland. One car had apparently crossed the double yellow line and struck a second car which then careened into a telephone pole and struck a fence, police said.

Officers and ambulance were dispatched, as well as the fire department due to air bag deployment. The police sergeant requested a unit from Tarrytown PD to assist with traffic control on North Broadway as both lanes were impassable briefly, blocked by vehicles and apparatus.

Spilled fuel on the roadway was cleaned by the fire department. Con Edison was called for the struck pole.
