Car Fire on Tappan Zee Bridge Halts Westbound Traffic

A car fire on the Tappan Zee Bridge around 1 p.m. had westbound traffic going toward Rockland at a standstill for almost an hour.

As of 1:45 p.m. Monday, westbound vehicles are moving, but at a crawl.

State Police stationed at Tarrytown's Troop T barracks confirmed it was a one-vehicle fire, cause unknown, that should all be clear now. Firefighters from both Tarrytown and Nyack responded, and crews salted the area for safety.

No one was injured, state police said.
