A White Plains man has been accused of offering an undercover investigator $50 to have sex with a 13-year-old girl, according to a statement from the Westchester County District Attorney's office.
Edward Lee, 30, of 11 Lake St., White Plains, has been charged with attempted rape in the second-degree, a felony, and second-degree patronizing a prostitute, a misdemeanor.
Investigators say Lee engaged in several e-mail conversations with undercover representatives from the DA's office from Sept. 16 and 26. During those conversations, investigators posed as the child's stepfather and Lee discussed "various specific sexual acts in which he would engage" the 13-year-old in exchange for money, the DA's statement said.
Lee then met with an undercover investigator and offered $50 for sex with the child, the DA said. Lee was arrested at that time.
Lee works as a self-employed personal trainer and rents space on Central Ave. in Scarsdale, according to the DA.
A judge set bail at $5,000. Lee is due to appear in Greenburgh Town Court on Sept, 28.
He faces a maximum of four years in prison.
