Not a Winner
On Nov. 23 at 1:54 p.m., a Francis Street, Sleepy Hollow resident notified police that she had received a call from someone claiming to be a part of the Mega Millions lottery. The person told her she won $2.5 million dollars, which of course she had not.
Not My Con Ed Account
On Dec. 5 at 6:51 p.m., a man in headquarters reported that an unauthorized Con Edison account had been opened in her name. She had already contacted Con Ed and started claim. The account information stated this account had been activated August 12, 2010 in Ossining where she had reportedly never lived. At this time there was a balance of $1,850.07 on the account.
Not My Loan
On Nov. 29 at 3:51 p.m., a complainant in headquarters reported identity theft for the use of opening a student loan with Citibank on August 7, 2008 in the amount of $20,000. The loan had been recently discovered by the complainant when he received a delinquency notice. He requested a blotter entry at this time in order to follow up with Citibank security/customer service.
