Tarrytown resident Reese Basile is in Westchester County Jail on $10,000 bail after an incident at about 12:30 a.m. in which police say he fired a starter pistol and assaulted two people in a Sleepy Hollow house.
Basile confronted a man and a woman at 14 Chestnut St. with a starter pistol that looked like a gun, said Sleepy Hollow Lt. Frank Hrotko. There apparently was a relationship issue, he said.
A fight ensued, the gun was fired and the woman called 911. However, no one was shot. Police cordoned off the house during the investigation.
The man was taken to Westchester Medical Center, where he was treated for a head injury and released, police said. The woman was taken to Phelps Memorial Hospital Center, where she was treated for neck and head injuries and released.
Basile, 36, of 20 Tappan Landing Rd., is due back in Village Court Monday.
