New City Man Charged with DWI in Tarrytown

Tarrytown Police pulled over a driver on White Street on Jan. 5 at 12:05 a.m. and issued a DWI charge. 

The driver, after being observed by police going through a stop sign, was taken to headquarters and his car was towed. He consented to a breathalyzer test which resulted in a positive reading over the legal drinking limit. 

The defendant, 33, of New City, was charged with:

  • driving while intoxicated, 
  • operating with a blood alcohol count exceeding .08 percent, first offense,
  • failure to stop at stop sign,
  • and unsafe lane change. 
He was released to a responsible person with a court date.
