Police Arrest Alleged Hit and Run Driver

Tarrytown Police arrested a man who reportedly fled the scene of a car accident on Feb. 8.

Tarrytown Police were able to track down the man who allegedly hit another car and drove away with noticeable damage to his own car.

On Feb. 8 at 1:11 p.m., a caller reported a hit and run car accident on Miller Avenue, just north of Park Avenue in Tarrytown.

A blue Nissan with front end damage reportedly fled the scene travelling north on Miller, now possibly somewhere near Main Street.

All police units were notified. Officers reported stopping a car of that description on North Washington Street at Dixon. The driver said he had been involved in the accident. He was issued a summons for leaving the scene of a car accident.
