Police Beat – Sleepy Hollow: Robber With Gun in His Belt

A summary of incidents in Sleepy Hollow from March 23 to March 30, 2012

 

The reported the following incidents:

Mar. 24

3:14 a.m. A man called and reported that about a half hour ago his girlfriend had been robbed by someone wielding a black hand gun. The robber allegedly took $40 after opening his coat and revealing the gun in his belt. The incident occurred as she was walking up Cortlandt Street by Chestnut Street. The robber took the money and ran down Chestnut, past the parking lot by 80 Chestnut. Police canvassed area for suspect.

Mar. 24

8:23 a.m. In an ongoing dispute between two adjacent business owners, one North Broadway caller reported that his neighbor was leaning on his fence and looking over the fence at him. The caller wanted him to stop. The neighbor agreed to police not to look over the fence or lean on it.

Mar. 26

11:22 a.m. Caller reported finding what appeared to be drug paraphernalia (empty cigar wrapper and two blue small ziplock type baggies) in front of her Gory Brook Road residence. Police determined the items were consistent with marijuana usage and spoke with a neighbor who reported that a light color Honda is sometimes parked in front of the house. All parties were advised to call the police if they see any suspicious activity.

Mar. 27

11:19 p.m. Sleepy Hollow Fire Department, among numerous area departments, responded to a , in which one woman sustained minor burn injuries while trying to put the kitchen fire out. Ladder 30 and Engine 86 responded and aided in the effort to quickly extinguis the fire and evacuate the large Halson House building.
