Police Beat – Sleepy Hollow: Cortlandt Establishments Busted for Alcohol Sales to Minors

A summary of incidents in Sleepy Hollow from May 11 to May 18, 2012

Several lost or stolen items in this week's Police Beat: 

  • On May 14 at 11:08 a.m. someone found on Beekman Avenue and turned into police: a set of five keys on two rings on a short black lanyard. The keys had a CVS rewards card attached, but there was no name attached to the account. If these sound like your keys, contact the SHPD at 914-631-0800. 

  • An iPod Touch and iPod Nano was reported missing from a storage closet in the PE/Gym office of on May 14 at 11:24 a.m. 

  • Also on May 14 at 6:35 p.m., an Elm Street caller reported that a bike was thrown over the fence and into her yard. Police recovered and have stored the possibly stolen bike that is teal and purple magna with training wheels.


And there were several instances of Cortlandt liquor establishments caught selling to minors.

  • On May 15 at 5:21 p.m., police requested a marked car at at 97 Cortlandt Street for alcoholic beverage control violation. The Greenburgh Drug and Alcohol Task Force conducted had conducted an investigation and issued two appearance tickets to the establishment after it sold alcohol to a minor.

  • Shortly after, at 5:45 p.m., Greenburgh continued its operation at the corner deli at 180 Cortlandt Street where the store clerk also sold an alcoholic beverage to a minor. One ticket was issued to the store clerk and one to the license holder for violation of ABC law.
