Police Beat - Sleepy Hollow: Upset Phelps Employee Flees, Open Container Violation

Here is a summary of incidents in Sleepy Hollow from July 19, 2010 to July 25, 2010

The Sleepy Hollow Police Department reported the following incidents:

July 25

12:50 p.m. A Tarrytown resident was issued a summons for having an open container of alcohol on Beekman Avenue. The man had ordered the beer at a bar located at 60 Beekman Avenue, and walked out of the premises. One intoxicated individual tried to come to the man's aid, but was advised to leave the scene. The Tarrytown resident will been in village court at a later date.

July 24

3:19 p.m. A car accident was reported at the Citgo Station. A Sleepy Hollow resident backed a vehicle into the station causing minor damage. An accident report was filed.

2:40 a.m. A possible fight was reported to the Sleepy Hollow Police Department by the Tarrytown PD. Officers were sent to 100 College Avenue for a possible argument in an apartment. Sleepy Hollow police were able to ascertain that the dispute was non-violent, and that one of the parties involved had already removed themselves from the area.

July 23

1:49 p.m. A minor accident was reported near the Immaculate Conception Church, however upon police investigation, it was revealed the complaint was unfounded and no damage could be seen.

12:18 p.m. Police received a 911 call stating that a traffic accident had just occurred on Evergreen Way. A parked Toyota Rav4 was struck by a passing Nissan Altima. A motor vehicle accident report was filed in the matter.

4:26 a.m. A verbal argument between a boyfriend and girlfriend was reported at a Cortlandt Street residence. The woman said she wanted her boyfriend to leave. Officers were sent to the location and filed a domestic incident report. The boyfriend agreed to leave the apartment.

July 21

1:35 a.m. An anonymous caller reported that a large group of youths around 126 Valley Street were about to engage in a fight. Two officers responded to the scene, however, no group of could be found at the location. A small contingent of individuals who were in the area were advised of the situation and were asked to be on their way.

July 20

9:20 p.m. A trustee took a ride through Kingsland Point Park and reported that a small group was still in the area after it had officially closed. An officer was sent to the park and cleared it before securing it for the night.

3:05 p.m. An employee at Phelps Memorial Medical Center became enraged when she was fired from her job. Security at the facility called police for assistance to escort the woman off the property. Before police arrived, the Yonkers resident had fled the scene with her access ID card. The hospital was considering legal recourse at the time and said they would advise police about how they wanted to proceed at a later date.

8:12 a.m. A woman called police to report that a young white male has continually run through her yard and has begun to spray her with chemicals that sting her body when she walks outside. The woman also stated that someone was shining a light on her ceiling in the night to cause her distress. Police had received calls from the residence before, but the events don't appear to have taken place. Police notified Westchester Adult Protective Services.

July 19

2:17 a.m. Members of the Sleepy Hollow Volunteer Ambulance Corps witnessed a fight occurring near Chestnut Street and Cortlandt Street, as they were driving to the hospital. Police could find no fight in progress at the location. Parties in the area were interviewed and sent home.
