Police: Beware of Impostors

A phone solicitor claiming to be raising funds for the Tarrytown Police Department caused suspicion.

A West Elizabeth Street resident said she received a call on December 14 from an unidentified person who said they were soliciting funds on behalf of the Tarrytown Police Department.

The Tarrytown woman gave no information to the caller. Police tried to call back the unidentified caller with no luck. The phone number did not accept incoming calls. Incident was noted for the record.

This follows a recent case of men claiming to be water department workers entering a Sleepy Hollow resident's home and allegedly stealing cash.
