Police: Bowling Ball on the Loose

Police report a strange incident recently of a stray bowling ball rolling down Franklin Street and crashing into Riverside Hose firehouse.

That’s about it: a one-line story that strikes.

Several DPW employees came into Tarrytown Police headquarters on Feb. 21 at 11:10 a.m. to report that they had just seen a bowling ball roll down Franklin Street and strike Riverside Hose firehouse at the base of the steep hill.

The workers turned the ball over to police who noted this as a suspicious incident for the record.

They were just getting ready for the firemen's Friday night league @ Skytop Lanes!

There was a broken bowling ball -- maybe two weeks ago -- in SH at the foot of the H Bridge, between the Clothes Doctor and the DPW.

You're right!! I saw that and forgot about it. Connected? Conspiracy? Bowling league gone mad? What's going on here...

Strangely, there was/is another one in the west parking lot of the train station by the north breezeway, sitting on the ground in one of the dividers. Very strange indeed.
