Police: Car Hits Pedestrian on Central Avenue

A 25-year-old Tarrytown resident was taken to the hospital for a leg injury.

A car hit a pedestrian on Central Avenue in Tarrytown on July 30 at 8:16 a.m., police said.

Lt. William Herguth said the car was going eastbound on Central Avenue and turning north onto Washington Street when it hit a pedestrian crossing Washington. 

Police and ambulance responded to the 911 call. A detective took photographs of the scene and the Tarrytown Volunteer Ambulance Corps took the injured pedestrian, a 25-year-old Tarrytown resident who complained of a leg injury, to Phelps Memorial Hospital.
