Police Charge Sleepy Hollow Man with Sibling Strangulation

Sleepy Hollow Police got a 911 call for a domestic dispute in a North Washington Street apartment on Oct. 20 at 3:22 p.m. and made a felony strangulation arrest.

Police reported that the fight was between a brother and a sister.

They arrested the brother, a 17-year-old Sleepy Hollow resident, on charges of:

Criminal mischief in the fourth for allegedly damaging property,
and strangulation in the second, a D felony.

Police Chief Gregory Camp did not want to release the name of the brother to protect the identity of the victim.

The woman, in her 20s, complained of neck pain in headquarters and was transported by Sleepy Hollow Volunteer Ambulance Corps to Phelps Memorial Hospital.

Chief Camp said she had visible injuries.

The defendant is scheduled to appear in Village Court today.

Note: An arrest does not indicate a conviction.
