Phelps Memorial Hospital on July 26 alerted Sleepy Hollow police that a woman was admitted to hospital who had children they were concerned about.
The hospital employee said that the mother, who was intoxicated, had been admitted to the hospital. She had five children, they reported, who allegedly had not been fed for two days.
Police notified Greenburgh police as the woman has a Greenburgh address. The matter was turned over to Greenburgh and child protective services for further investigation.
