Police Make Three Separate DWI Arrests in Sleepy Hollow

Sleepy Hollow police charged three individuals, including two from Sleepy Hollow, with driving while intoxicated from August 8 to August 14.

A 36-year-old New Rochelle woman was charged with DWI after allegedly almost hitting a car on Beekman, police said.

A caller reported to Sleepy Hollow police on August 8 at 4:31 a.m. that a truck almost hit his car. He said the driver just came out of a bar and was driving down Beekman in a black Ford F-150 that had just turned down Clinton Street. Officers found the vehicle on Clinton Street and arrested the woman.

A Bellwood Avenue resident called to report an accident in front of her home on August 10 at 8:54 p.m. A second caller reported the same accident and told police the driver was possibly drunk.

The driver hit a parked car, Chief Gregory Camp reports, sharing the attached police photo.

The Sleepy Hollow fire department was dispatched since airbags were deployed and fluid was leaking from the car.

The driver, a 55-year-old Sleepy Hollow man, would be taken to Phelps Medical Center following his arrest on a DWI charge.

Finally, police conducted a traffic stop on August 14 at 12:14 a.m. that resulted in another DWI arrest.

At Valley and Depeyster streets, police charged a 24-year-old Sleepy Hollow man with driving while intoxicated.

They stopped the driver initially for erratic driving and having no headlights on, Camp said.
