Police: Man Threatens Passersby with Knife

Police responded to a 911 call from a man saying he had been threatened by a knife by someone at Walgreens on July 5 at 1:53 a.m.

Sleepy Hollow police reported to Tarrytown police that they had received the 911 call.

Tarrytown police responded and found nothing amiss at Walgreens; they found the caller on Central Avenue. Police spoke to the man who said he had seen an unknown man chasing an unknown woman down Central Avenue towards Walgreens. When the caller attempted to help the woman, she told him he was okay and didn't need help.

At this time, the caller said the man began to curse and generally threaten everyone in the street with a knife. The man however said he never saw any actual knife and believed the man to be intoxicated.

The woman then returned to the man and headed up Central Avenue.

The caller said he refused to give any further information and wished no further police action. Police found nothing in a search of the area and received no further calls about the incident.
