Police Respond to 911 Domestic Dispute Call for Unconscious Victim

A 911 caller reported that a woman on Union Avenue was unconscious, apparently the victim of a domestic dispute, Tarrytown police said.

Police sent an ambulance on June 26 at 10:21 p.m. to the home where there was allegedly a fight between two cousins. The woman, who lives elsewhere, was choked by her male cousin, 21, who is a Tarrytown resident with no prior record, Police Chief Scott Brown said.

The woman was conscious when help arrived, Brown said.

The victim was transported to Phelps Memorial Hospital, with detectives following for photos and an interview.

The suspect, 21, reported to headquarters for follow up investigation, where he was charged with assault in the third degree, a misdemeanor, and released with a return court date.
