Police: Speeder Had Oxycodone and a Switchblade

State Police patrolling I-87 North in Tarrytown pulled over a green Ford Expedition for speeding around 3:30 p.m. March 11.

When the trooper interviewed the driver, a 26-year-old from Pomona, NY, he noticed a knife and discovered it was an illegal switchblade. Further investigation found the driver in possession of Oxycodone without prescription, police said.

He was arrested and processed at SP Tarrytown where he was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 4th Degree, both class A misdemeanors.

He was issued an Appearance Ticket directing him to appear in the Village of Tarrytown Court later next week.
