Police Investigate Tarrytown Stabbing

Tarrytown Police are investigating the case of a man who was found with a cut to his neck at the DoubleTree Hotel and an unknown suspect who fled.

Tarrytown police report that a stabbing incident in or near the DoubleTree Hotel is under investigation.

On Feb. 23 at 2 a.m., a manager from the DoubleTree called police to report that his security guards had found blood in the hallway of the hotel. The manager had no more information at the time.

Tarrytown police officers went to the hotel and called Tarrytown Volunteer Ambulance Corps to help a victim found with a laceration on their neck, apparently from a knife wound.

The victim described the suspect as a stranger, approximately 5’7”, Hispanic, of stocky build with black hair. The man had reportedly fled the area.

Further police investigation revealed the suspect was possibly driving a four-door red Honda that may have gone northbound.

Police put out a hotline to area police with that information. Irvington PD assigned an officer to assist searching the area and Tarrytown detectives were contacted to assist.

TVAC transported the victim to Westchester County Medical Center accompanied by an officer.

The County Evidence Collection Team arrived along with a county police supervisor. The evidence team collected evidence and took photographs.

Tarrytown detective division reported a continuing investigation and have offered no further updates.

A big part of the problem is that the teachers' expectations about what supplies are necessary haveRead More become so extreme. When my kids were in school in Tarrytown, we would get a list at the beginning of every school year of the supplies we needed to buy. The parents were asked to buy a separate looseleaf binder for every single class our kids were taking and, for some classes, they asked for a looseleaf AND a spiral notebook. When I was in school, each kid had ONE looseleaf and we separated classes with dividers. Having SIX or seven loose leafs adds to backpack weight and costs a lot of money. My kids supply bills were often close to $100 apiece. The teachers have bought into this idea that all of these supplies are necessary and they are not. I'm not surprised that Staples is offering "rewards programs." Their advertising and marketing efforts have convinced the teachers that you must have a package of 12 red correcting pens, per child.
