Two Westchester residents were arrested on North Washington Street after police found 14 small waxed bags of alleged heroin in their possession.
On Nov. 20 at 6:38 p.m., Greenburgh Drug and Alcohol Task Force members reported to Tarrytown Police they had two parties in custody following an investigation on North Washington Street. Tarrytown units went there to assist. Task force officers reported one man and one woman under arrest for criminal possession of a controlled substance. Both defendants were secured in booking and held for processing.
Barbara Nokaj, 22, of Yorktown Heights, was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree and released on $100 cash bail with a return court date.
Christopher Demauro, 26, of Mount Kisco, was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree and taken to Westchester County Jail with no rap, no bail.
Lieutenant William Herguth specified that Demauro was the one who had 14 bags of what police believed to be heroin in his possession. Whether there was an intent to sell the drugs is unknown, Herguth said, and there was no charge for that.
The defendants' car was towed to the police impound lot and the drugs were secured in a locker at headquarters.
