Sleepy Hollow Cops: Pedestrian Struck on Beekman; Clinton Street Pot Bust

A summary of recent police activity and arrests in the village of Sleepy Hollow.

Clinton Street Burglary

A Clinton Street resident reported to police on Oct. 11 that her back door had been left open and her television and other personal items were gone. 

Police opened a burglary investigation after this was reported at 2:05 p.m. 

Pedestrian Struck on Beekman

A 78-year-old Sleepy Hollow resident stepping out onto the crosswalk on Beekman Avenue was struck by car but not injured, police report. 

This happened in front of 110 Beekman on Oct. 11 at 10:20 p.m. 

Police requested an ambulance but said the victim refused medical assistance at the scene. 

Bar Crawl

An officer reported on Oct. 12 being flagged down about an unwanted woman at the Huddle Bar on Beekman. Police at 1:19 a.m. removed the woman from the bar and sent her on her way. 

At 4:08 a.m., a caller reported to police that she had been touched by a man at the Oasis Bar on Beekman. Officers at the scene reported it was the same woman who they got out of the last bar, and that she was intoxicated. 

Police reported that the woman did not wish to pursue any complaint at this time and left the area. 

Assault Charge

A 36-year-old Sleepy Hollow man was charged with assault in the third after a fight on Cortlandt Street that left one man injured.

Police responded to a call for a fight on Oct. 12 at 8:47 a.m. At the scene they requested an ambulance for the victim, who sustained a "laceration on his face" and was taken to Phelps Memorial Hospital, Chief Gregory Camp said.

Door Kicked

A Devries Avenue resident reported to police that her door had been kicked in on Oct. 12 at 10:35 p.m.

She reported to police that her front door had been kicked in. Police filed a criminal mischief case as the bottom of the screen door had been damaged. 

Assault Arrest

An Ossining 19-year-old was arrested by Sleepy Hollow on an assault in the third degree charge from a reported fight on Oct. 6 in the village.

Westchester County Probation Department called SHPD to report they had the man in their custody who was wanted here. Officers went to White Plains on Oct. 15 to pick him up on the misdemeanor charge. 

Marijuana Arrest

A caller reported to police on the afternoon of Oct. 16 that three men were on Clinton Street engaging in possible drug activity. 

Police just after 3 p.m. reported the arrest of one man, 17, of Sleepy Hollow on a charge of criminal possession of marijuana in the fifth, a misdemeanor.
