A Sleepy Hollow man is having a bad run with DWI charges
lately, police report.
Chief Gregory Camp confirmed that the man his officers arrested on a DWI charge on August 14 on Valley Street is the same man that got into trouble again, in a much more dramatic way, in a chase that ended in Hastings-on-Hudson on August 21.
Camp said the man apparently had a hearing at the DMV on August 21, but by night he had racked up a second DWI charge.
According to LoHud.com, Stanley R. Martinez, 24, allegedly fled the scene of a car accident on the Saw Mill Parkway in Tuckahoe just before 8 p.m. that night. Pursuit of his car by County Police led to Hastings where an officer was finally able to stop him.
Martinez then allegedly tossed drugs out of his car, namely a bag of pot laced with PCP, and struggled with the officer who decided to use a stun gun to subdue him.
Lohud reports that police charged Martinez with:
· criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fifth, a felony,
· Resisting arrest,
· And leaving the scene of a property damage accident.
Martinez is being held in Westchester County Jail pending a Hastings court date.
Note: An arrest does not indicate a conviction.
